In 1943, the Government of Canada built Sunnybrook Military Hospital to take care of Canadian veterans during World War II. Today, Sunnybrook Health Science Centre is an internationally recognized teaching hospital, affiliated with the University of Toronto, and home to Canada’s largest veteran’s centre. Thanks to the support of the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation, the Hospital is world-renowned for its groundbreaking research, eminent staff and continuous efforts to meet the health care needs of the Toronto community.
The Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation appointed Envision to create a memorable, digital donor wall experience that would serve as a showcase piece of innovation, and recognize the many donors who contribute to support the Hospital’s research and education. Recognizing the need to balance colour and light in the Hospital’s space, the Envision team of donor experts designed, built and installed a state-of-the-art digital donor wall that creatively merges colours, shapes and images, and maximizes natural light. It also features Envision’s leading-edge Content Management System (CMS), which allows the Foundation to update critical content, add donors and schedule changes as needed.
The digital donor wall — one of the largest installations of its kind in North America – not only achieved the Foundation’s goal of acknowledging patrons, but also provided an interactive experience for visitors to engage with images and stories about Sunnybrook’s history and mission.
What are clients saying
“The Envision team provided amazing concepts for our revolutionary Tap-to-Donate fixture – a first of its kind in Canada. They were able to make it attractive, functional and live in harmony with the digital donor wall that they also designed and installed. They were patient as we worked through a complex approval process and site preparation at the hospital. We are raising money and are thrilled with the result!”Anita Dundys
Manager, Community Giving, Sunnybrook Foundation
The Foundation was so pleased with the digital donor wall, they engaged Envision to develop a tap-to-donate display that met two complimentary criteria: the stand-alone fixture had to blend in well with the existing environment and donor recognition wall, but also stand out to capture attention and ultimately support the Foundation’s fundraising efforts. The Envision team created a modern and sleek wood, metal and Corian fixture to stand the test of time with the hospital’s heavy traffic flow and provide a seamless, intuitive way for spontaneous giving to the Foundation.
For our creative and innovative designs, Envision earned first-place recognition for the annual Digital Signage Expo 2020 APEX “Work that Wins” Award (Healthcare Environments), presented by the Digital Signage Federation (DSF).
